Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways:
- Information you provide directly when you contact ScoreVox or use an account-enabled feature.
- Basic usage and device information collected automatically when you use the site, such as pages viewed, button clicks, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and similar technical data.
- Information generated from your interactions with the site, including analytics events such as page views and download CTA clicks.
- If you use the ScoreVox mobile app, we may collect crash diagnostics and related technical stability data from the app through Firebase Crashlytics. Depending on the report, this can include crash stack traces, app version and build identifiers, OS version, device model, timestamps, and technical logs or custom keys associated with the crash.
- If you use the ScoreVox mobile app, spoken game events may be processed locally on your device while you actively record. In production app builds, those audio recordings are not uploaded to us, are not included in diagnostics, and are not included in export bundles shared from the app.
- Referral and campaign information associated with your visit, such as referrer, UTM parameters, landing page path, and other query string parameters included in the page URL.
How We Use Information
- To respond to inquiries and provide requested support.
- To improve the website, product quality, performance, and reliability.
- To protect the service, investigate issues, and prevent misuse.
- To understand interest in ScoreVox and measure the performance of our site and download flow.
- To understand which campaigns, links, or landing pages are driving site visits and downloads.
- To diagnose app crashes, debug failures, and improve mobile app stability.
Analytics and Cookies
We use PostHog for website analytics. PostHog helps us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked. This may involve cookies or similar technologies and the collection of technical information such as IP address, browser information, device information, and on-site activity.
ScoreVox also uses PostHog product analytics in the mobile app when analytics collection is enabled. Production users can choose whether to enable this collection in Settings; prerelease builds may collect it to support beta testing and reliability work. Mobile analytics may include app version, platform, feature and subscription-flow interactions, and high-level entitlement status. If you sign in while analytics collection is enabled, we associate these events with your account identifier, email address, and sign-in provider. We do not send player names, roster contents, audio recordings, purchase receipts, or payment details to PostHog.
Mobile App Crash Reporting
The ScoreVox mobile app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google Firebase service, to help us detect, investigate, and fix app crashes and related stability problems.
In production app builds, Crashlytics is off by default unless you enable crash reporting in the app's Settings screen.
In prerelease and testing channels, including development, alpha, and beta builds, crash reporting is required as a condition of using those builds so that we can evaluate stability and fix issues before broader release.
Microphone and Audio Processing
The ScoreVox mobile app uses microphone access only while you actively record spoken game events. Audio is processed locally on-device to recognize those events and convert them into structured basketball or soccer statistics.
In production app builds, audio recordings are not uploaded to ScoreVox, are not shared in diagnostics, and are not included in in-app export bundles. Development and alpha support workflows may include additional local diagnostic tooling for prerelease debugging.
Cloud Sync and Game Data
When you choose to sign in and use cloud features, ScoreVox stores information needed to synchronize your games across devices and provide cloud-based features.
Depending on the features you use, this may include game information, team and roster information, basketball or soccer statistics, transcripts generated from spoken game events, and limited technical information needed to improve speech recognition and stat processing.
Audio recordings remain on your device and are not uploaded to ScoreVox.
When you share a game with spectators, they receive only the information needed to display game progress and statistics. Private account information, transcript text, internal system identifiers, and diagnostic information are not shared with spectators.
Subscriptions and Purchase History
ScoreVox Pro is an optional paid subscription. We use RevenueCat and the applicable app store to process subscription purchases, restore purchases, and determine access to Pro features. This involves purchase and subscription records, such as product identifiers, transaction or purchase-token information, purchase and expiration dates, subscription status, and an app-specific account identifier. RevenueCat also uses subscription information for analytics that help us understand subscription performance. These records are separate from the optional PostHog app analytics setting.
Payment details are handled by the app store. ScoreVox does not receive your full payment-card details. Deleting your ScoreVox account does not cancel an app-store subscription; cancel it separately through your app-store subscription settings to stop future renewals.
How We Store and Process Information
We use third-party service providers to operate the website and support the product. Depending on the feature or workflow, those providers may include:
- Analytics providers, including PostHog.
- Crash reporting and diagnostics providers, including Google Firebase Crashlytics.
- Email and communications providers, including Gmail and related email infrastructure.
- Database, storage, and backend providers, including Supabase.
- Subscription management and purchase verification providers, including RevenueCat and the applicable app store.
- Other service providers we may use for customer communications or support.
These providers process information on our behalf so we can run the site, respond to inquiries, and support the product.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the site, run analytics, or communicate with people who ask to hear from us. We may also disclose information if needed to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or respond to legal process.
Children's Privacy
ScoreVox is intended for adults such as parents, coaches, volunteers, and scorekeepers who manage youth sports activities. It is not directed to children under 13. Adults are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authority to enter and manage player information they provide through the service.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate ScoreVox, provide requested features, improve the service, protect system integrity, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations.
If you delete your account or game data, we will remove or anonymize information associated with your account where appropriate. Some information from previously shared games may be retained or anonymized when reasonably necessary to preserve the integrity of shared statistics, maintain system security, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, or support legitimate operational needs.
Your Choices
You may request deletion of your ScoreVox account through the app or by contacting us. Some information may be retained as described under Data Retention.
You can also request deletion of particular data without closing your account. Email [email protected] with the subject Delete My ScoreVox Data, identify the data you want removed, and state that you want to keep your account. If the data belongs to an account, contact us from that account's email address so we can verify the request. Do not send your password or payment-card details. We will explain any information that must be retained and why.
You can choose not to submit your email address. If you want to update or delete information you previously shared with ScoreVox, contact us and we will review the request. You may also request access to the personal information you previously provided to us and ask that we correct or remove it, subject to any legal, security, or operational obligations that require us to keep certain records.
For account and data deletion instructions, visit scorevox.com/delete-account.html.
If you use a production mobile app build, you can enable or disable app analytics and crash reporting in the app's Settings screen. If you use a prerelease build where collection is required, your choice is whether to continue using that prerelease build under that requirement.
